Chelsea star Alvaro Morata thanks fans for new song claiming him to be better than Tottenham star Harry Kane

The 24-year-old netted his first Blues hat-trick in the 4-0 romp against Stoke on Saturday, and was left delighted by the new chant

ALVARO MORATA has thanked Chelsea fans for his new song which claims he is better than Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The 24-year-old implored Blues supporters to change his old chant after it was deemed to be offensive towards Jewish people.

And Chelsea revealed they would slap lifetime bans of anyone singing the song in the future.

But Morata was left delighted when fans joined together at the bet365 Stadium to sing: "Alvaro, Alvaro, he comes from sunny Spain, he's better than Harry Kane."

He took to Twitter to show his delight, as he tweeted: "Thank you so much for the new song!! You are the best!! #GOBLUES #CFC."

It was an afternoon to remember for the former Real Madrid forward who netted his first Chelsea hat-trick when they faced Stoke on Saturday.

Antonio Conte's men romped to a 4-0 victory - with Morata finding the back of the net for the sixth time in the Premier League since joining in the summer.

The Italian also expressed his gratitude for the change of chants, and hailed the fans for pushing the team on.

He said: "It was a good change and I am pleased with the new chant.

"Our fans were fantastic, they pushed us a lot.

"In this stadium who push a lot (for Stoke), I want to thank our fans as they helped the team a lot today."

And head of communications at Chelsea Steve Atkins added: "We spoke to Alvaro after the game and he was also grateful for the change."

Next up for the West London side is an away trip to the Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

And Conte has insisted his side are more than ready for the match-up and are in good shape as they look to extend their lead at the top of Group C.
