Ex-Arsenal star Stefan Schwarz loses more than three stone in weight with extreme gym and eating plan

The 48-year-old Swede spent one season with the Gunners before playing at Sunderland for four years

FORMER Arsenal star Stefan Schwarz has shown off the effects of a brutal new workout regime.

The 48-year-old Swede- who spent one year at the Gunners before Arsene Wenger took over - has lost more than THREE stone.

Schwarz posted a photo of himself in June weighing in at 98kg, or 15st 6lbs.

The 5ft 10in star then showed another photo from ten days ago, and he now weighs 77kg - which is a mere 12 st 2lbs.

In all he has lost 21kg, or three stone and four pounds.

Schwarz says he feels almost as fit and healthy as he did in his prime more than 20 years ago.

And he’s encouraging people to join him by ditching the chocolate and hitting the gym instead.

Schwarz wrote: “My results so far from '16 weeks of hell' - powerwalk, nutrition and gym sessions together with Tony Andersson and Ebbe Hellsing!

Schwarz joined from Benfica in 1993 and scored a famous injury-time equaliser against Sampdoria in the European Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final.

He ended up returning to England with Sunderland in 1999 under then-boss Peter Reid.

Schwarz went on to make an impressive 76 appearances during four years in the north-east.
