Referee Michael Oliver showed yellow cards to West Ham's Andy Carroll, Winston Reid and Andre Ayew, while Eric Dier and Fernando Llorente were booked for the visitors.

An FA statement read: "It is alleged that in or around the 95th minute of the game, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion."

Both clubs have until 6pm Thursday to respond to the charge.

Reid and Llorente squared up to each other after a challenge by Carroll, delaying the game as other players rushed to get involved.

Ayew's caution came a moment before for a bad tackle on Ben Davies as West Ham tried to force an equaliser.

Spurs were 3-0 up after 60 minutes but Javier Hernandez pulled one back five minutes later and Serge Aurier was sent off for a second yellow card with 20 minutes to go.

Cheikhou Kouyate scored in the 87th minute to set up a nervy end to the game, but Mauricio Pochettino's men managed to hold on to the win.

Slaven Bilic said after the match: "We are disappointed we lost the game. Until that first goal we were proper like last year when we beat them, it was a really good performance.

"Then we lose one ball, with enough players behind, and it was a brilliant finish. But it was a good fight from our side."
