And if his latest Instagram post is anything to go by, it is easy to see why he has dropped off the radar.

Sagna, 34, looks relaxed in a black T-Shirt with a camo undershirt, camo bottoms and desert boots as he leans on his customised Yiannimize electric car.

The ex-Arsenal right-back, whose former bright blonde dreadlocks would have stuck out like a sore thumb in his new army-themed look, captioned the post: "Told yahh @yiannimize, they ain't ready and never gonna be #camoday #mybro #gonnaheadtothegymlater"

Sagna joined the Gunners from French club Auxerre in 2007 and won the FA Cup in 2014.

The following season he left the Emirates for Premier League rivals City on a free transfer.

Sagna revealed his major regret about leaving City when he did was the fact he failed to win the Champions League.

Last term Pep Guardiola's side were knocked out in the semi final by Real Madrid 1-0 on aggregate after defeat at the Bernabeu.

Sagna insisted: "Obviously the Champions League semi final leaves some regrets because to me we had the chance to beat Real Madrid.

"After drawing here we could have done better in the second leg. Hopefully as a team we will learn from it and hopefully the team will be better in the future."

He was reportedly being chased by Brighton, Crystal Palace and West Ham in the summer, as well as a number of foreign clubs.
