MANCHESTER UNITED will hope their injury crisis has not deepened ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace after Anthony Martial became the latest player to be crocked.

The winger limped off after a fantastic display in the Russian capital, where he created two assists and scored a penalty.

Martial has now found the back of the net five times this term and has been one of Mourinho's biggest improvers.

He hobbled off the pitch but did not appear to be seriously injured.

But with the likes of Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo all injured - Mourinho's squad will be stretched to its limits.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also due to come back into the squad after damaging ligaments in his knee and re-registering with United.

On the other side of the coin, the Portuguese does have a nearly fully-fit Luke Shaw back with the squad and has plenty of options in defence.

And with Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, he has quality options among the front three - while Angel Gomes has continued to impress for the youth team.

Midfielder Scott McTominay also made the trip with the first-team squad to Russia after being used in pre-season.

Pogba's recovery schedule remains a mystery, with the Frenchman set to return next month at the earliest from a pulled hamstring.

Mourinho looked anxious with the number of injuries after the game, but was full of praise for Romelu Lukaku.

He said: "We have now just one game, a difficult one against a fresh team, when we're still here and we have a game Saturday 3 o'clock.

"But amazing numbers for Romelu.

"He is humble, he wants to learn all the time, so I think ambition is there and I don't think he's going to be very impressed with your great words, because I think he knows when things are not going well when your words are strong in a negative way."
