Sergio Aguero’s dad Leonel Del Castillo claims Manchester City striker was only wearing seat belt because he was worried about taxi driver’s speeding
Argentina ace suffered broken rib when he went to concert in Amsterdam and car taking him to airport hit a lamppost
SERGIO AGUERO'S father Leonel Del Castillo has hit out at the taxi driver for "speeding", causing the crash which saw his son suffer a broken rib.
The Manchester City striker was in Amsterdam to watch a concert — and was involved in a collision with a lamppost on the way back to the airport.
Reports suggest that, had he not been wearing a seat belt, the injuries could have been far worse.
And, Del Castillo, reveals he was only forced to put the seat belt on because he was afraid due to the taxi driver's erratic driving.
He told the Argentinian press: "Everything was going fine until the accident happened while he was going to the airport.
"He told me that that the taxi driver was going very fast and, for this reason, he was forced to put on his seat belt.
"He was with a kid who works for the company which represents him and told him to ask the chauffeur to slow down as there was no rush — and driver responded 'OK'.
"I saw the images and the truth is, we need to thank God, because it could have been far worse.
