ANOTHER week, another Kane-ing…and another step towards those who reckon he’s the hottest striker in world football right now.

Harry Kane pounced twice in the first half, to make it 13 goals in eight games this month, and bring the Prem new boys crashing to earth.

The Spurs hitman took just nine minutes to open his account, sliding under Jonas Lossl after a leg-waving gaffe from Chris Lowe left him free.

Ben Davies then rounded off a delightful passing move for his third of the season in the 16th minute, before Spurs' talisman struck again.

In the 23rd minute, a Kane wonder strike had even some Huddersfield fans applauding in admiration.

Taking a Kieran Trippier throw-in at waist height, he spun away from Chris Schindler, stepped away from Jonathan Hogg, and curled it away from keeper Lossl from 20 yards.

It really was a magnificent finish – and effectively killed off a match that was as one-sided a contest at you’ll see all season.

Kane’s twin wowers also mean that he has now scored against 25 of the 26 sides he has faced in the Prem, only Cardiff managing to shackle him.

The England forward’s one and only previous visit here had seen him score and then get a red card during a loan spell with Leyton Orient in League One six years ago.

Huddersfield’s only chance of keeping him quiet today was a rush of blood and another dismissal – he was that much better than anyone in a blue and white striped home shirt.

And just for good measure he also had a hand in the flowing Spurs move that resulted in their second, in between his first half double.

No less than seven one-touch passes were involved in a tika-taka approach as good as any you could see in Europe, before Kane’s volleyed flick put Christian Eriksen clear.

Even though Lowe hared back to cover, all his would-be saving toe in could do was pick out Davies, steaming in on the other side of the box, and he dinked it into the corner.

Game over, points sealed, and another couple of notches on the Kane bedpost. Although he didn’t actually have the final say, as sub Moussa Sissoko bagged those rights by bundling in an injury time fourth.

WHAT THEY SAID

Goalscorer Harry Kane said: "No game is straight forward but we got off to a great start. We wanted to come and put the pressure on. For the second goal, I was not sure whether I wanted to take it on my left, I saw the keeper come and was delighted to see it go in.

"I feel good, I feel confident and I am there to put the goals away. We have to continue this after the international break."

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville said of Harry Kane's opener: "Huddersfield pushed too high up the pitch and were a little bit naive in that respect.

"The centre-backs didn’t sprint back, as seen with the first goal, and that was a little bit unforgivable. Why wouldn’t you sprint back? They didn’t do it and it cost them early on.”

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino said: "We deserved the victory, we were better. Until today Huddersfield only conceded three goals, and we scored four. We dominated the game and that is why I am so happy with everyone. We played Champions League in Cyprus, arrived back home late and then to show the energy and performance is fantastic for us.

"I did not see Dele Alli's yellow card. I have to trust what you say. We can do nothing today. If it happened (simulation) then he needs to improve. He knows he cannot make these type of actions. When you are young, you make more than one mistake so it is about helping him.

"Harry Kane is in an amazing moment. He is scoring goals, his energy is fantastic. The way he works without the ball. I wish he keeps going at the same level and for the team to win games."

Huddersfield defender Mathias Jorgensen said: "Kane is a goal scorer. If you give him half a chance he punishes you. That’s going to be great for England and their chances of qualifying.

"We need to make sure we play collectively, like we did in spells todays, and erase the mistake. It sounds easier than it is to do but what we learned today was that you get punished.”

Jamie Redknapp said of Harry Kane: "He looks like a player that appreciate every single second on the pitch. He’s had to do it the hard way at the likes of Leyton Orient, and he wasn’t brought up on the red carpet.

“As a young player he was wasn’t the best player in the academy, but look at the progress he has made. That has come from hard work and dedication. He is a joy to watch.”
