Dele Alli trolled for diving after Tottenham star is booked in Huddersfield clash

Spurs ace's booking comes after being banned by Fifa for his middle-finger gesture during England's World Cup qualifying win over Slovakia

DELE ALLI has been trolled after being booked for diving against Huddersfield.

The Tottenham star's yellow card comes after he was slapped with a one-match international suspension following his middle-finger gesture during England's World Cup qualifying win over Slovakia this month.

Alli went down in the box in the 59th minute at the John Smith's Stadium despite there being no apparent contact from Town keeper Jonas Lossl.

Players who dive this season face being banned for two matches after the FA passed the rule at their Annual General Meeting in May.

But as referee Neil Swarbrick showed Alli a yellow card, he does NOT face suspension.

Spurs were three goals up and flying at the time thanks to two Harry Kane goals and another from Ben Davies.

Alli, 21, was caught up in a cheating storm last season after winning a spot-kick through simulation against Swansea, which opened the floodgates to a 5-0 thrashing.

Speaking before Fifa banned Alli for Thursday's World Cup qualifier at home to Slovenia, Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate said: "We run the risk of looking a shambles because he could be withdrawn again."

Southgate also revealed he has spoken to the Spurs star about his future conduct.

He said: "These are young guys and their world is complex in that it’s in the full glare of publicity.

Former striker Ian Wright selects his top tips for Saturday's action.

"Romelu Lukaku has started exactly as you’d want a £75m signing to start.

"Not only has he scored a load of goals but he’s also silenced those questioning his link-up play and the first touch.

"He’s the only player in my mind when it comes to the first goalscorer market - and I fancy United to get loads againsrt Crystal Palace."

"The thing now is understanding and they are the sorts of things I talk to him about."

Mauricio Pochettino revealed before today's clash that Alli was mature enough to handle his England ban.

He said: "Does Dele have the mental strength to handle this? Yes of course.

"He's more mature today. I think you can feel the same. He's not the kid who arrived three years ago.

"A lot of things have happened in that period and he's mature enough to deal with the situation."

But Alli has immediately found himself in hot water AGAIN, and angry fans took to Twitter to vent.
