Harry Kane matches Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for scoring 13 goals in a month – and promises more to come

HARRY KANE's double against Huddersfield saw him match the record goals scored in a month held by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tottenham star Kane struck twice as the London club stormed to a 4-0 win over Huddersfield that took his September tally to 13.

That means he matches the best goalscoring months enjoyed by La Liga goal machines Messi and Ronaldo.

Real Madrid star Ronaldo was the first to hit 13 goals in a calendar month when he hit on a rich vein of form in October 2010.

And that total was matched by Barcelona hero Messi two years later as he when goal crazy in March 2012.

The record is just the latest indication Kane is moving himself up there among the group of best attackers in world football - and the Spurs star insists there is still more to come.

He tweeted a picture of himself celebrating at Huddersfield, and wrote: "Another great win on the road! Now for a big October.. #COYS"

Kane was interviewed life on Sky Sports after the match and asked if he had ever felt better. He said: "Probably not.

"If you look at the goals to games it's probably the best month I've had, especially after August.

"It's nice, I feel good, I feel confident, when these boys are up the pitch putting in good crosses and through balls and I'm just there to put them away.

"I'm delighted with the win, it's been a great week for the team, and we've just got to continue that after the international break."
