FORMER Arsenal favourite Emmanuel Eboue will fly to England after his agent confirmed the player is 'facing medical problems.'

Tekin Birinci revealed the news in a statement just a day after completing his move to Cypriot side Turk Ocagi Limassol.

The issues came to light following the player's medical.

Birinci confirmed the news on social media by writing: "Unfortunately it is true that we are facing some medical problems about Eboue but it is not right to make any comments at the moment.

"Tonight he will go to England and tomorrow will make the necessary medical check ups so we will know how serious it is."

Birinci then provided Goal with further detail claiming they found "abnormal blood values."

He added: "They found abnormal blood values so they didn't issue the licence and we took the decision to send him to England to have medical check-ups there."

The right-back had agreed a 12-month deal with the Northern Cypriot club after serving a one-year ban from all football-related activity for failing to pay a former agent.

The 34-year-old spent seven years at Arsenal before joining Galatasaray in 2011.

He won three Super Lig titles, the Turkish Cup and two Super Cups with the Istanbul club.

He joined Sunderland in March 2016 but failed to make an appearance for the Black Cats before being released just a month later.

Eboue endured a horrific 2016 which ended up with the veteran defender "wanting to kill myself."

Last October his grandfather Amadou Bertin died from cancer and the same month Eboue lost brother, N’Dri Serge, in a motorbike accident.

The Ivorian later told the Telegraph: "There are a lot of days when I don’t feel like getting out of bed.

“One day I wanted to kill myself. My family keep me strong, it’s them I have to think about but if I was alone, I worry about what I’d have done to myself by now.”
