Arsenal dressing room rift after Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil ‘miss a club engagement’

Gunners stars said to be furious after biggest stars skipped club media day

ARSENAL players have turned against Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

The Gunners pair, who continue to be linked with an Emirates exit, have angered their team-mates after missing a club media day in September.

The Evening Standard report that players had to report to London Colney for engagements with corporate sponsors on September 21.

Even injured Danny Welbeck and Mathieu Debuchy, who has not played for Arsenal since November 2015, were expected to attend.

Arsenal's official line is that both Ozil and Sanchez were ill and unable to attend.

But Chilean Sanchez had played 90 minutes the night before in Arsenal's win over Doncaster in the Carabao Cup, while Arsene Wenger made no mention of any illness in his post-match press conference.

It's not the first time Ozil and Sanchez have annoyed their Arsenal brethren.

A number of players have been fuming at the pair's reluctance to speak out - especially when times are tough.

Their reluctance to fulfil these kind of duties is also fuelling speculation among the squad that Sanchez and Ozil WILL leave at the end of the season.

Both are in the final year of their contracts and, despite big offers from the north London club, are not close to negotiating new terms.

Manchester United are said to be 'confident' they can convince Ozil to reunited with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, while Manchester City are thought to be in pole position for Sanchez - although they face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
