Arsenal Sarandi’s Rodrigo Contreras in shocking two-footed tackle during derby match
As two-footed tackles go, the tackle during the Argentine Superliga match has to be one of the worst and one of the most blatant ever
AN Arsenal star was lucky not to break his opponent's leg after a shocking lunge which could have ended his victim's career.
The needlessly aggressive tackle by Rodrigo Contreras of Argentinian side Arsenal Sarandi during the Superliga match, on Banfield defender Renato Civelli, luckily left the player relatively unscathed and he managed to play the remaining 60 minutes.
Banfield hosted the fellow Argentinian team but didn't receive a warm reception from Arsenal Sarandi.
Although Arsenal Sarandi eventually won the match Contreras, who is on loan, carried out the horror challenge just before half-time while his team were trailing.
The 21-year-old Sarandi player lost control of the ball and in a desperate attempt to regain control carried out what could arguably be the most dangerous tackle of the year.
Contreras blatantly jumped with his two feet on Civelli's shin in what had the potential to be a leg breaking tackle.
The Banfield defender was thrown to the ground and felt the full force of the forward who stood upright on top of him before tumbling down and landing on him in dramatic fashion.
Contreras was subsequently sent off for the challenge but did gesture apologetically to Civelli as he left the pitch.
