Chelsea aiming to DOUBLE their revenue in the next ten years with dual stadium-shirt sponsor like Arsenal
Reigning Premier League champions currently only fourth in the earners list but are hoping to join Europe's elite
CHELSEA are aiming to DOUBLE their revenue in the next ten years with a dual stadium-shirt sponsor... much like Arsenal.
The reigning Premier League champions are currently only fourth in the earners list but are hoping to join Europe's elite.
The Blues are eyeing up a dual shirt-stadium sponsorship deal, much like Arsenal with Emirates, in order to break into the top five earners in Europe.
Chelsea are currently only eighth in the European revenue stakes.
Commercial director Chris Townsend revealed the plan, claiming he hoped to increase the club's number of sponsors from 12 to between 30 and 35.
Townsend said: "Manchester United, Manchester City and others have anywhere between 50 and 70 [sponsors].
"We plan to focus on more premium brands in a far more limited range of categories."
Chelsea's turnover last year was nearly £200million behind financial giants Man United at £334.6m, compared to £515.3m.
City and Arsenal both also sit above Chelsea in the domestic revenue charts.
When the Gunners left Highbury to move to their current home, they struck a deal with Emirates to be both the shirt sponsor and have stadium naming rights.
