Manchester United expect Paul Pogba to be out for another two months with hamstring injury

Old Trafford's record buy has as already missed five games and club medics believe he must sit out at least two more months

CROCKED Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will miss at least another two months.

The £89million club-record buy has been out for five games since injuring his hamstring in the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel last month.

Now the club’s medical staff expect the Frenchman to be absent until the Christmas fixtures, ruling him out of key games against Tottenham and Chelsea and, potentially, the Manchester derby at the start of December.

United are considering using a running coach to work with Pogba, 24, as there are fears his gait may have been a factor.

They had already designed a stretching programme prior to his latest problem and now an additional coach may be next.

One source believes getting match-fit after the injury makes the festive fixtures a realistic target.

But boss Jose Mourinho is set to be boosted by the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from a knee injury, with the Swede only two to three weeks away from a miracle comeback.

Pogba was vidoed dancing behind a car wheel this week but Mourinho already knew the Frenchman will not be a driving force on the pitch for quite a while yet.

Mourinho said before today's update: "His injury is not one that I can have the hope like I can have with others.

“With long-term injuries, I don’t speak about them, so Ibra, Pogba, Rojo and these players, I don’t think about them.”

But Pogba's midfield team-mate Nemanja Matic insists United will be fine without him.

Matic said: “We know that he will be out for some time. He’s very important for us, a great player, but I am sure he will be ready soon.

“Paul is very important for Manchester United but we also have great players to play instead of him.”
