EVERTON boss Ronald Koeman has until the end of October to save his job after a disastrous start to the 2017-18 season, according to reports.

The Dutch boss, 54, has overseen the Toffees as they've slipped to 16th in the Premier League and struggled in the Europa League, despite a £150million summer spree.

Koeman brought in the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen in mega-money deals this summer.

On top of that, Wayne Rooney, Nikola Vlasic, Henry Onyekuru, Sandro Ramirez, Cuco Martina were brought to the club to help mount a serious top-four challenge.

Instead, Everton have slumped to four defeats in their first seven league games, while slipping to shock results against Atalanta and Apoel Limassol.

Koeman has reportedly been given until the end of the month to turn things around or face the swing of the axe.

Before October comes to an end, Everton will go up against Brighton, Lyon, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester in the Premier League, Europa League and EFL Cup.

Earlier this weekend, Koeman told De Telegraaf he is "calm" despite the pressure, saying: "I also accept that everyone is entitled to his opinion.

"And as a coach I don’t run away from criticism.

"We know within Everton that we currently play under our level and that the results should be better.

"The moment I made the move from Southampton to a club with such ambitions, I knew I could be in a difficult situation if investments were not accompanied by results.

"I’m pretty calm with it.

"I do everything with the rest of the staff and we work even harder to get those results fast.
