Diego Costa ALREADY taking break from Atletico Madrid training as he sips beer on a Marbella beach with pals

Striker has been enduring gruelling one-to-one training sessions in the Spanish heat as he bids to step up his fitness following a summer in exile

DIEGO COSTA has been put through his paces in a bid to build his fitness... but still found time to sip a cold one in Marbella.

The former Chelsea man was treating himself to a low-key birthday beer in the Spanish holiday resort after turning 29 on Saturday.

Despite sacrificing a pre-season at the Blues in order to force a dream return to Atletico Madrid, Costa looked in fine shape thanks to the work of fitness coach Oscar ‘The Professor’ Ortega.

After finally getting his £67million switch, Costa has endured gruelling one-to-one training sessions in the blistering heat with Ortega taking no mercy on the forward.

But with the international break in full flow, he has afforded some time to relax with pals.

Costa was snapped collecting a beer before taking a sip as he chilled out on the sun loungers.

The striker can't play for the club until January when Atleti's transfer ban embargo is lifted.

But he still looked in fine shape having worked on his own training methods whilst AWOL in Brazil over the summer.

Costa had hoped to make his return to Atletico this summer, but his plans were dashed when Fifa upheld the La Liga side's transfer ban.

He is allowed to integrate with the first-team... while Leicester new-boy Adrien Silva is NOT and can only watch training through a window.

Silva signed a 14 seconds after the transfer window slammed shut - and a month on, he has still not been cleared to turn out for the Foxes.
