Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho heads to watch Austria versus Serbia – but fans can’t work out who he is scouting
JOSE MOURINHO surprised Manchester United fans when he was spotted at Austria's World Cup qualifying win over Serbia.
Pictures emerged on social media of the Old Trafford boss in the stands at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna.
There was some speculation that Mourinho was checking up on young Serbian Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - but the 22-year-old has not yet had a full cap for Serbia - and was not in the squad.
Nemanja Matic played and scored for the Balkan nation in their World Cup qualifier, while Marko Arnautovic scored against the country of his descent as Austria won 3-2.
Mourinho has a busy few weeks coming up before the next international break for the World Cup play-offs in November.
United face Liverpool in the Premier League at 12.30pm on Saturday.

They then have Benfica in the Champions League in Lisbon, before traveling to Yorkshire to face Huddersfield.
Mourinho is lacking midfield options, and could be tempted to dip into the transfer market in January if he still faces a lack of depth.
United will be without Paul Pogba for the trip to Anfield, as well as Marouane Fellaini, who will be out of action for around two weeks after picking up an injury with Belgium.
Mourinho also had a street named after him in his home town of Setubal - on the outskirts of Lisbon - for which he was over the moon.
He said: "I come to Setubal because I love Setubal. Because my friends call me Ze and leave this tittle-tattle of 'Special One'."
