Roy Hodgson's men took just eleven minutes to net against Chelsea this afternoon after going the entire firs two months of the season without scoring.

But they couldn't actually do the job properly themselves - they needed Cesar Azpilicueta to turn the ball into his own net.

Palace would not have cared how the goal came so long as it did, and the goal was no more than they deserved after a bright start against the defending champions.

But any hopes Hodgson had that the relief would provide a springboard to go on and take the game away from Chelsea were soon ended.

For Antonio Conte's men were back on level terms within minutes thanks to Tiemoue Bakayoko scoring his first goal for the club.
