Jose Mourinho has NOT been offered a new five-year contract at Manchester United – according to reports

JOSE MOURINHO has NOT yet been offered a new five-year Manchester United contract, according to reports.

The Old Trafford boss has thrown his future at the club into doubt with after an interview with French TV, in which he described his admiration for Paris Saint-Germain.

And according to the Daily Record, he is yet to be officially offered a new contract at the club.

SunSport reported last week that United are set to table a £65million contract offer with the most lucrative bonus structure in football.

But these latest comments from Mourinho could be seen as a challenge for United to put their plan into motion and get the contract under the nose of the Portuguese - and super agent Jorge Mendes.

Mourinho’s admiration for PSG was laid bare in his eye-opening interview with TF1.

He said: "What I can say is that I am still a manger with questions, with ambitions, with a desire to do new things and I do not think - I am sure - that I will not finish my career here.

"My son, who lives in London, decided to go to Paris and not Manchester to watch a game recently."

And while United have been able to add significant quality to their squad, the French club scooped Neymar for a world record £198m, while teen starlet Kylian Mbappe arrived initially on loan with a permanent move set for next summer.

The deals blew Europe’s rivals out of the water and shook up the order of power the club game.

And United have also been left wide-eyed by PSG’s financial might - even if they are set for a Fifa Financial Fair Play probe.

According to the Record’s report, Mourinho is "frustrated by the executive vice chairman's handling of the club" and concerned at Ed Woodward’s "bureaucratic" approach.

There is no doubt about United’s commercial success, but fans will be concerned if the footballing side of the club has taken a back seat since Woodward took over as executive vice chairman.

Mourinho, 54, has won the League Cup and Europa League while at Manchester United and has impressed the club by transforming the playing style on the pitch.

The former Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter and Porto manager had long coveted the Old Trafford hotseat before finally getting the gig in the summer of 2016.

But it seems he is keen not to let Woodward and the club rest on their laurels and make United a football club in his image.
