Calls for ‘clown’ Ronald Koeman to be sacked after Everton lose 5-2 to Arsenal

Under-fire Dutchman sees the Toffees wallowing in relegation zone after being demolished at home by Gunners

FANS have urged Everton to sack 'clown' Ronald Koeman following the club's 5-2 thrashing by Arsenal today.

The result leaves the Toffees wallowing in the relegation zone with just two league wins this season.

Everton took the lead through Wayne Rooney but Nacho Monreal snatched a goal back before the break.

Mesut Ozil headed in Arsenal's second and Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez all got on the scoresheet after Idrissa Gueye was sent off for a second yellow after 68 minutes.

Koeman splurged about £150million on signings this summer but failed to fill the boots of last season's top scorer Romelu Lukaku.

Bookies have the Dutchman as favourite to be the next Premier League sacking ahead of Slaven Bilic.

And Everton are said to be lining up a shock move to bring David Moyes back to Goodison Park.

Footie fans across the globe have taken to Twitter to call for change.

Despite the pressure mounting on Koeman, the Everton boss believes he has time to turn things around on Merseyside.

He said: "That's normal, that's football. We played against the top five of last season but this is not a position in the table that is good for Everton.

"I understand, I have worked for a long time in football, don't tell me what can happen. But I don't think its too late."

Koeman was calm and relaxed when addressing the media. He said: "It's not the time to start to be crazy because we lost 5-2 today. It's a big result, and OK, we will see what happens."

He added: "I told the players I believe in them and the commitment of them.

"If you are negative thinking - everyone is doing that now - you take everything negatively.

"The final result is really poor but once again, these decisions are not in my hands."
