Everton boss Ronald Koeman jokes at dinner after Toffees were thrashed by Arsenal

Under-fire Koeman dined at Italian restaurant San Carlo in Manchester before buoyant Pep Guardiola popped in for Sunday dinner

EVERTON manager Ronald Koeman was spotted on his way out to dinner looking relaxed and smiling despite admitting his future is uncertain at Goodison Park.

The under-fire Dutchman watched on as his side were battered 5-2 at home by a rampant Arsenal, a defeat which sent the Toffees spiralling into the bottom three of the Premier League.

Koeman, 54, brushed aside speculation about his future on Merseyside to meet with friends for a bite to eat at up-market Italian restaurant San Carlo in Manchester city centre.

His old Barca team-mate Pep Guardiola was also among diners at the popular eaterie on Sunday evening and was full of smiles, despite looking like an extra from Peaky Blinders.

The Toffees go to Chelsea on Wednesday in the League Cup and Koeman would do well to heed any advice passed on by the Spaniard after City’s dominant display at Stamford Bridge last month.

Wayne Rooney gave the home side the lead early on, but the Gunners hit back with goals from Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez.

Idrissa Gueye was sent off to pile on the misery for Koeman, who is under huge pressure to turn things around with just one league win since beating Stoke on the opening weekend of the season.

The Merseysiders went on a huge spending spree in the summer and look to be going backwards with Koeman admitting he could face the sack.

'I DON'T KNOW' Ronald Koeman admits he is unsure whether he will be sacked by the Toffees as the pressure mounts

He said: “"I don’t know [if the defeat will cost me my job].
"I told the players I believe in them, their commitment.

"If you are negative thinking and everything is doing that at this moment I can understand it.

"You can take all things in a negative way and even not telling everybody that we stayed with ten men after 1-2.

"It’s a final result that is really poor but once again all these kind of decisions are not in my hands."
