Belgian now being treated by his manager's surgeon in an effort to finally overcome his injury woes and return to the Etihad first-team
VINCENT KOMPANY has flown to Barcelona in an effort to beat his injury curse once and for all.
The Belgian star has been out of action since he damaged his calf while on international duty back in August.
That blow is the latest in a long line of problems suffered by the centre-back over recent years.
Kompany is desperate to get his body fixed once and for all after only appearing 18 times for City since Pep Guardiola’s arrival in 2016.
And now the 31-year-old Etihad skipper is consulting his manager’s favourite medic Ramon Cugat in a bid to help him.
He flew to Barcelona on Monday to meet with the knee surgeon who treated Guardiola back in his playing days.
Kugat told Het Laatste Nieuws: "Kompany can still continue playing at the highest level for a number of years.
"That is providing that he listens to what his doctors have to say."
