Ace started his career at the Santiago Bernabeu but made just one appearance before pursuing regular chances elsewhere

CHELSEA fans could be worried after Marcos Alonso claimed “part of me will always be at Real Madrid".

The left-back started his career with the Spanish giants and was tipped for a bright future after making his debut in 2010.

But Alonso instead ended up joining Bolton the following summer before sealing a switch to Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old has since established himself as an important player for the Blues, making 31 appearances as they stormed their way to the Premier League title last season.

But despite claiming that Real would always be his home, Alonso insists he has no regrets over his decision to quit the Santiago Bernabeu as he looks to win his first cap for Spain.

He told Marca: “I lacked the patience to play there. In my final season there, I got my debut but I wanted to play every week.

“When I had an offer from the Premier League, I had no hesitation. I don’t regret it.

“Real was my home for a long time and I’ve not forgotten it. There’s part of my that will always be there, I can’t deny it. To play for the first team was a dream.

“I think I can contribute a great deal to the [Spanish national] team. But right now, I’m worried about my matches with Chelsea.

“I can only do what I can on the field, and that’s why I’m trying. To win a ticket for Russia, first I have to win with Chelsea.”
