An own goal from young goalkeeper Mile Slivar and a Daley Blind penalty ensured Mourinho's men got their hands on all three points.

But on top of that, United kept their little-known unbeaten streak at home alive... now standing at an incredible 37 games.

However, this is absolutely nothing new for Mourinho, who is the undisputed master of building a fortress.

During his Chelsea days, the Special One led the Blues to an incredible 49 games unbeaten at Stamford Bridge between August 2004 and February 2006.

Of those games, an impressive 38 were wins, with just 11 draws - and, of course, no defeats.

During his time at Real Madrid it was no different either, going on a 43-game unbeaten streak at the Bernabeu at one stage.

While at Serie A giants Inter Milan, Mourinho once again turned his home stadium into a place opponents dreaded coming to.

United's last defeat at home came in the 2-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City on September 10, 2016.

In fact, the 37-game unbeaten streak matches a record set by a Sir Alex Ferguson-led United.

The Red Devils can hold the record outright if they manage to avoid tasting defeat against Newcastle on November 18.

Mourinho's ability to turn Old Trafford back into a fortress will be imperative as the club chase their first Premier League title since Fergie in 2012-13.
