He picked up a racket at an early age to become one of his country's most promising tennis prospects
HUGO LLORIS has revealed he grew up wanting to be a TENNIS star.
The Tottenham keeper spent his formative years with a racket in his hand in the south of France.
And he went on to become one of his country's most promising tennis prospects.
But at 13 he decided to join Nice's academy and went on to play 119 times for his hometown club.
Lloris has revealed it could have been all so different for him.
The Spurs and France skipper said: "I started out with a tennis racket.

"Later, during one of the breaks we got from tennis, I started playing football with my friends.
"I was only five years old. I don’t know why I wanted to be a goalkeeper either.
"Maybe because I could throw myself at the feet of my opponents, for the risk."
