Gareth Southgate says Jack Wilshere cannot play for England ‘without getting in the Arsenal team’
Three Lions skipper has left Gunners midfielder out of his 25-man squad for friendlies against Germany and Brazil
GARETH SOUTHGATE has said there is no way Jack Wilshere can get in the England side without first doing so for Arsenal.
The Gunners midfielder was left out of the England manager's 25-man squad for upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
But Southgate disagrees, citing a lack of game time, and that has thrown Wilshere's hopes of a World Cup spot next summer into serious doubt.
Southgate said: "I don't know how you get in an England squad without getting in the Arsenal team.
"There is no question about his ability, his football brain or personality.
