Europa League Permutations: How can Arsenal and Everton qualify for the next round of competition?

Gunners have the chance to clinch qualification while Everton are fighting to keep their European dream alive

ARSENAL and Everton return to Europa League this evening, with one on the brink of qualification and the other fighting to keep their European dream alive.

This year's final will be held in France at Lyon's Groupama Stadium - but what do the Gunners and the Toffees need to book their place in the next round.

What do Arsenal need to qualify?

Arsene Wenger's side will qualify if they beat or draw against Red Star and BATE fail to win against Cologne.

The Gunners have won all three of their games so far in Europe and sit top of their group with a five-point cushion over BATE.

Although it would come as a surprise if Cologne manage to get a result against BATE, as they have lost all three games so far this season in the Europa League.

What do Everton need to qualify?

It will be impossible for Everton to qualify if they lose to Lyon this evening and Atalanta avoid defeat.

The Toffees have had a torrid time in Group E this season, after losing twice and managing to pick up just one point.

It is likely group-leaders Atalanta will continue their unbeaten record in Europe against Atalanta.
