New Liverpool star Naby Keita ‘fined £366,000 for submitting fake driving licences’
It is claimed the Guinea international was twice caught with fraudulent paperwork while applying for an EU licence
LIVERPOOL-bound Naby Keita has reportedly been fined £366,000 for submitting fake driving licences to German authorities.
It is claimed the Guinea international was twice caught with fraudulent paperwork while applying for an EU licence.
It was initially thought Keita, 22, would be hit with a £90,000 fine, but Bild reports the sum as being over four times that amount.
The RB Leipzig midfielder's hefty fee is believed to be based on his £51,000-a-week contract.
But Keita is ready to fight the court order having ordered his lawyer to issue an appeal after receiving it last week, according to the report.
A Leipzig court spokesperson told the German outlet: "The appeal was received by us on November 2."
Reds have already agreed a deal to sign Keita next summer for £48million - and the player is likely to bank a hefty signing-on fee.
But paperwork problems are not the first time that he has landed himself in hot water in recent weeks.
Keita was sent off for the THIRD time in seven games in a defeat to Bayern Munich last month.
Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "We need to keep our discipline. Not just one player, but the whole team.

Keita idolises Manchester City star Yaya Toure but has been compared to Portuguese wizard Deco.
He was once rejected by Le Mans and Lorient but got his break when fellow Guinean Bobo Balde who played for Celtic organised a talent contest in Marseille and he was signed by French Ligue 2 side Istres.
