Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes club legend Thierry Henry or Patrick Vieira should succeed Arsene Wenger as boss
ARSENAL should turn to club legends like Thierry Henry or Patrick Vieira when Arsene Wenger finally ends his tenure in charge of the Gunners, according to Ray Parlour.
The ex-England midfielder believes one of his former team-mates would be best to take over from the long-serving Frenchman.
Wenger only signed a new two-year deal earlier this year - despite some fans demanding his head - which runs until the summer of 2019.
But Parlour believes the club should start to look at his replacement sooner rather than later.
Both Vieira and Henry turned to coaching after hanging up their boots.
Vieira is currently head coach of MLS side New York City FC, while Henry is assistant to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national side.
On the Gunners' future, Parlour revealed: "If I was Arsenal now, I'd be looking in two years time, whenever it's going to be, and see who is going to be interested in taking over.
"Try and put it in place now. Managers don't hang around.

"Do you know who would be perfect one day? Patrick Vieira.
"He's manager at New York, but now he's probably in line for the Man City job instead of Arsenal. He's part of their club.

"In the future, maybe Thierry Henry.
"He's a very intelligent guy, he knows the players, he knows the dressing room and he knows how to attract big players. He could be perfect for it.
"Will he get an opportunity? Who knows. I would always look at ex-players.
"I know it doesn't always work out like that with Tony Adams and such, but if they know the club inside out, which Vieira and Henry do, it gives you a big advantage."
The last time Arsenal won the Premier League, in the 2003-04 Invincibles campaign, both Henry and Vieira were in the side.
