TONY ADAMS has urged Arsenal to cash in on Alexis Sanchez as soon as possible.

The Chile international is out of contract at the end of the season and doesn’t seem keen to extend his Emirates stay.

Sanchez was the subject of a last-minute offer from Manchester City in the last transfer window.

But the move fell through after Arsenal demanded Raheem Sterling as part of a swap deal.

It now means Sanchez is set to leave north London for nothing, with Arsene Wenger keen on keeping him for the remainder of the campaign.

But former Gunners captain Adams believes his club would be best-served by selling Sanchez this January in order to secure a decent fee.

Adams told Omnisport at the premiere of Arsenal film ‘89’: “We used to have a philosophy at Arsenal: if you don’t want to be at the club then bye-bye, we shake your hand get people that do, whatever money.

“I’ve always loved those principles, so if he doesn’t want to be here then try and get the most you can for him and get him on and get someone that does want to play for the club.”

Arsenal are believed to be weighing up a number of replacements for Sanchez, including Barcelona duo Rafina and Arda Turan.

However, the Gunners are believed to be most keen on Schalke’s Leon Goretzka, who looks set to leave Germany next summer.
