Nabil Fekir wanted by Arsenal and Barcelona but Lyon warn suitors that they won’t be selling star man in the January transfer window
French striker has scored 11 goals in as many league games this season and is attracting interest from across Europe
ARSENAL and Barcelona are both reportedly chasing deals for French ace Nabil Fekir.
But the duo will have to wait until next summer to make a move after Lyon’s president insisted there’ll be no business done in January.
As reported earlier this week, Arsenal are apparently keen on bringing Fekir to the Emirates as soon as possible.
Alexis Sanchez looks set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, and Wenger seems to believe Fekir is the man to replicate his high goal count.
The France international has scored 11 times in as many league games this term.
And Spanish newspaper Sport claims that Barcelona are also interested, with a move for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho looking increasingly unlikely.

However, Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas is confident Fekir will be staying put for the time being, saying: “Of course [he’ll remain], and nothing says he’ll leave at the end of the season.
“He’s under contract, he’s happy in Lyon. He’s enjoying a period of success football-wise, but also in terms of management as he’s captain of a Lyon side that’s been able to get itself back on track, and it’s also thanks to him.

“Of course, he has a very good chance of being at Lyon [next season too]. He’s a symbol. In between times, there will be the World Cup.
“If France is in the final, which I hope for, and Nabil scores the goal that makes France world champions, of course he’ll get offers. But that said, we’re going to do everything for Nabil to stay and I think he wants to stay.”
