REFEREE Kevin Friend FLOORED Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas in a shove that would have delighted any Arsenal fan.

The 30-year-old was about to control Eden Hazard's pass, but the official had other ideas as he accidentally pushed him in the back to send the Spanish midfielder flying.

Friend then simply stepped over the ex-Barcelona maestro, as he waved play on during the first half at Stamford Bridge.

Blues fans were already angered after having penalty appeals turned down, with Newcastle seemingly let off the hook once again.

But frustration soon turned to elation when minutes later Alvaro Morata headed Chelsea in front to make it 2-1 in the 33rd minute.

Dwight Gayle fired the Magpies ahead in the 12th minute, before Eden Hazard equalised for the reigning Premier League champions with a sumptuous strike.

Newcastle were certainly grateful by the referee's antics as they tweeted their delight after the incident.

They said: "26' - Solid defending by referee Kevin Friend.
