And Sporx claims Spurs chiefs are preparing to table a formal offer to steal a march on rivals United.

Yazici, 20, came through Trabzonspor's academy and made his first-team debut at 18.

He has gone on to rack up 43 appearances, chipping in with 10 goals as well as providing a creative spark.

His breakthrough season, which has seen him earn two caps, led to a number of rumours a move to Europe is on the cards.

Crystal Palace agreed a £22.5milion fee for the 26-year-old Besiktas centre-forward in the final days of August after an earlier bid had been rejected by the Turkish champions.

But there was not enough time to complete the details of the deal before the transfer window closed and the Eagles will now renew their interest.
