Now, N'Zonzi's boss Berizzo has now revealed the club will sit down to sort out the player's situation privately "over the holidays".

Berizzo revealed: "It’s an issue that we’ll evaluate over the holidays.

"These things will remain confined to the dressing room. It’s a technical decision.

"We’ll assess the situation in a consensual way, for the good of the team and the club.”

Disillusioned N'Zonzi recently told France Football: “My future is somewhere else.

"We just have to wait until December is over and everything will be done.

“I hope Sevilla qualify in the Champions League and have good luck in the future, but I will not be part of that adventure.

“What hurts is the way everything is going to end. It hurts, of course, but for now the team is functioning.

"There’s only a short time left, just December to pass, and it’s better that my time at Sevilla stops then.”

Berizzo returned to the Sevilla dugout on Friday night for his side's 0-0 draw with Levante - having recently undergone surgery following a prostate cancer diagnosis.

The La Liga side boss had the operation to remove a tumour, after it was discovered after their stunning 3-3 draw with Liverpool in the Champions League last month.
