Burnley star James Tarkowski facing three-match ban after violent conduct charge for elbowing Brighton’s Glenn Murray
Video evidence used after officials missed 35th minute incident that saw Murray felled after being hit in the ribs
BURNLEY defender James Tarkowski has been charged by with violent conduct by the FA.
Tarkowski faces a three-match ban for elbowing Brighton striker Glenn Murray in the ribs.
The FA are taking retrospective action.
Millions of television viewers saw the 35th minute incident during Saturday's goalless draw at Turf Moor.
But it was not seen by referee Chris Kavanagh or the match officials.
Tarkowski has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond.

Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time are referred by The FA to a panel of three former elite match officials.
Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.

For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision of the panel must be unanimous.
Speaking about the incident after Saturday's game, Murray said:
"I can't remember what happened but I felt something in my ribs. However the referee didn't see it."

If the Manchester-born Tarkowski is found guilty he will miss Burnley's match against Tottenham at Turf Moor on Saturday.
He'll also be out of the Boxing Day showdown with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
