But now United are back at their Aon training complex ahead of Saturday evening's clash away to Leicester.

The faces of the players said it all, as Zlatan was just one star to look glum as he trundled back to the office in his Volvo 4x4.

Meanwhile, Juan Mata drove Ander Herrera to training in his Aston Martin, while Romelu Lukaku cruised in driving his £250,000 personalised Rolls Royce.

Elsewhere, Pogba, David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young were seen rolling into their Carrington base.

After the cup humiliation against Bristol City, Mourinho was quick to describe the win as "lucky", but called it a "beautiful day for football".

The Special One claimed: "A team from the lower division won. A big day for them.

"They were a bit lucky but they fought a lot to be lucky. Everyone was waiting for our goal so they were lucky. We hit the post twice.

"But they played brilliantly, they fought like it was the game of their lives which probably it was. A beautiful day for football."

Mourinho added squad rotation may have played a part in the defeat, saying: "The reality is that the players that were on the pitch were the ones that were not in the last match.

"They are the ones that are not going to be in the next match. I think they lost a good opportunity also to play semi-finals and also to have two more matches to play.

"But I don't want to blame the players at all because I think they were professional - it wasn't a case of 'we don't care about the game' or 'we don't have responsibility' or 'we don't have pride'."
