MANCHESTER CITY must do more than go unbeaten this season if they want to eclipse Arsenal's 'Invincibles;.
That's the view of former Liverpool great turned broadcaster Didi Hamann.
Should City not be defeated during the entire campaign, they will become only the second team to do so in Premier League history.
Obviously there will be comparisons to the famous Arsenal side of 2003/04.
“It’s very hard,” said Hamann, who played against that brilliant Arsene Wenger team.
“We go back 12-15 years to the ‘Invincibles’ and it’s very hard to compare teams from different eras, so I wouldn’t like to compare them.

“But if [Man City] want to be remembered as a better team than the ‘Invincibles’, I think they’ve got to obviously go unbeaten in the first place.
"But they’ve got to do it in style as well because that Arsenal team, for me, is the best team the Premier League has seen over the past 20-25 years.

"Or in fact since the Premier League started.
“So I think it will be a huge task, for me, to remember them as better than that Arsenal team. That was a special team.”
Asked where City can improve this season, Hamann told Squawka: I think Stones has done well. I think Otamendi, when he’s played, has done well and even Mangala looks a lot more confident and solid than he did before.
“They addressed the full-back [situation]. I think if there was an area to address then it would be maybe be at centre-back, because you don’t know how many games Kompany can play.
"He’s been very injury-prone over the last few years.”

But despite Ederson gaining rave reviews in the City goal, Hamann suggests The Citizens could still improve in this area.
He added: “There might still be a question mark over the goalkeeper (Ederson).
“So [they can improve] at centre-back and potentially the ‘keeper, even though so far [Ederson] has done OK.”
