Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is back in Gareth Southgate’s England World Cup squad after series of dazzling displays
The 25-year-old has caught the attention of the Three Lions boss after starting the last three games for the Gunners
JACK WILSHERE is back in Gareth Southgate’s plans for the World Cup.
The Arsenal midfielder has not played under the current England boss — but will be monitored ahead of Russia.
Southgate will consider the 25-year-old if he continues getting first-team football, having started the Gunners’ last three Premier League games.
Wilshere’s last Three Lions match was 18 months ago in the defeat by Iceland at the Euros.
Southgate has gone with youth and the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek have moved ahead of Wilshere in the pecking order.
But the England boss is refusing to rule out the 34-cap midfielder now he has broken back into the Arsenal side.
Bournemouth — who had Wilshere on loan last season — are among the teams looking at a short-term deal in January.
However, talks on a new deal for Wilshere at the Emirates are due to start within a fortnight.
