Arsene Wenger hints Jack Wilshere has earned a new contract after Liverpool draw
Arsene Wenger has reassured Arsenal fans on the future of Jack Wilshere suggesting a new contract could be on the horizon
JACK WILSHERE'S contract expires at the end of the season - but Arsene Wenger has suggested contract talks are progressing well.
The 23-year-old's career has been devastated by injury in recent years, however he has remained fit this season and has impressed in recent weeks.
After an impressive performance in Arsenal's remarkable comeback against Liverpool, the French boss has suggested a new contract can be on the way.
A number of Premier League clubs are interested in the English midfielder.
West Ham are front runners for the 25-year-old.
When asked whether Wilshere will sign a new contract, Wenger offered a cryptic answer.
He saidL "We had four players [against Liverpool] who have been educated at our academy.
"With [Ainsley] Maitland-Niles, [Hector] Bellerin, with [Alex] Iwobi and Wilshere.
"We are certainly the only ones at the top with so many. Basically we went to keep these players."
Wilshere was perhaps the only outfield player to emerge from Arsenal’s awful first half against Liverpool with any plaudits.
