Arsenal move ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea in battle for £30m Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey
ARSENAL have leapfrogged Manchester United and Chelsea in the chase for Bayer Leverkusen ace Leon Bailey, according to reports.
The Jamaican born winger has taken the Bundesliga by storm after scoring eight goals in sixteen games.
And according to the Mirror, the Gunners have taken the lead in the battle for £30million-rated Bailey.
Arsene Wenger sent scouts to to watch Bailey at Hannover last Sunday and he scored twice in a 4-4 draw.
And the Gunners were present when on Wednesday as Bailey scored the winner at Borussia Moenchengladbach to put Leverkusen into the German Cup quarter-finals.
And Wenger is believed to be ready to splash out on Bailey as a replacement for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who left to join Liverpool in the summer.

Arsenal also face the prospect of losing Alexis Sanchez in January and that would leave them short on the wings.
But they will face a tough task in convincing Leverkusen to sell after Bailey recently signed a new five-year deal.

There is also uncertainty surrounding the futures of Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud which could force Wenger to spend big.
