Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez scores double against Crystal Palace… but cynics reckon it was a Manchester City audition
A number fans were suspicious of their talisman as he delivered a fine performance just days before the transfer window opens
ALEXIS SANCHEZ produced a match-winning display for Arsenal at Crystal Palace, but most people treated his exploits as if they were a goodbye gift to the Gunners.
The Chilean struck twice inside four second half minutes to seal the points and a 3-2 win at Selhurst Park on Thursday.
But with speculation over his future mounting, Twitter was full of it after his brace, with many believing he used the clash as a chance to impress in order to land himself a move to Manchester City next month after his summer transfer to Citizens collapsed at the eleventh hour.
"Alexis Sanchez giving Man City the perfect audition ahead of his January move," wrote @PyjamasRich.
And @TheASDMonkey echoed those thoughts, saying: "Nice to see Alexis Sanchez putting in an audition for his move to Man City."
It seemed that the world of Twitter has already decided that the forward, aged 29, is certainly going to be on his way to the Etihad once the transfer window re-opens.
"Another goal by on loan @ManCity striker @Alexis_Sanchez," wrote @JuzBlaze143.
But some Arsenal fans appeared to be in denial over the departure of their talisman.

Gunners supporter @LGoonerHoward said: "All these fans throwing their opinions around of @Alexis_Sanchez just make me laugh. YOU KNOW NOTHING!"
He was quickly ridiculed for his tweet, with pointing telling him to face up to the fact Sanchez will be off.

But he was having none of it, replying: "Why am I deluded? Because I don't bother listening to those that don't know?
"If it happens... it happens. No need to say 'I told you so' just because I would rather not jump to conclusions and make assumptions."

Sanchez is out of contract with Arsenal at the end of the season and will be free to leave the Emirates.
Manchester City remain interested in the hotshot, but it remains to be seen whether they will launch a bid for him next month or wait until the end of the season.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on signing the former Barcelona man.
