Why are Arsenal playing in red shorts?
BOTH Arsenal and West Brom wear white shorts as part of their standard home kits.
It was deemed that players could confuse each other's legs when passing the ball.
Arsenal's two other options - their two-tone blue kit and their black and pink - were deemed unsuitable.
And it is understood the Gunners prefer not to mix their own strips together, ruling out the use of shorts from either of those strips.
Arsenal have are no plans to release the red shorts for sale, however.
