Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp worried Mo Salah could miss trip to Burnley after picking up knock in win over Leicester

Egyptian scored twice as Reds came from behind to beat the Foxes 2-1

JURGEN KLOPP fears that he will be without top scorer Mo Salah for the trip to Burnley on New Year's Day.

Liverpool ace Salah took his season’s tally to 23 with a couple of second-half goals to see off Leicester at Anfield.

The Egyptian forward has not missed a single Premier League game since his £37million summer move to Anfield from Roma.

But Klopp admitted “He was limping a little at the end of the game and that is never a good sign. We have to check and see what he can do for the next match.”

But the Salah scare was the only dampener on a perfect day for the Liverpool boss, who said: “It is maximum satisfaction to win like this and today was pretty much perfect.

“Our reaction to going a goal down was the best I’ve ever seen in this situation. The crowd were unbelievable and we needed them to score these two goals.

Liverpool 2-1 Leicester: Mo Salah strikes twice as Reds come from behind to take victory

“Mo Salah was fantastic with his dribbling and his vision. I couldn’t ask for more from him.

“I am happy for him and for all the team because this is a fantastic group of players. It’s a good team performance and a well-deserved win.”

Salah has now scored 17 times in his last 17 games for Liverpool and team-mate James Milner admitted: “I’m running out of words to describe him.

“He keeps scoring in almost every game but it’s important the rest of us support him with goals because we don’t want to put too much pressure on him.”

Leicester boss Claude Puel said: “Of course it’s a disappointment but Liverpool played at their best today.

“We did well to score early on but we lost the ball too quickly and we could have launched our counter-attacks much better.

“But it was a good game with a positive attitude of unselfish players and now we must look forward to Monday’s game against Huddersfield.”
