West Ham transfer news: David Moyes to offer £25m and huge pay rise to land Swansea star Alfie Mawson

Hammers willing to quadruple defender's £15,000-a-week wages and offer Andre Ayew as part of the package

Hammers boss David Moyes thinks a decent fee plus extras could interest the Swans.

The Welsh side value their defender at £40m.

And Moyes is prepared to quadruple the 23-year-old’s £15,000-a-week wages in a bid to lure him to London.

Liberty old boy Andre Ayew will also be offered as part of the package.

Mawson missed out on the 0-0 FA Cup stalemate at Wolves yesterday.

The England hopeful has come a long way since his £5m switch from Barnsley in the summer of 2016.

NEW HART Newcastle to swoop for Joe Hart on loan

Swansea are rock bottom of the Premier League and Mawson does not want to drop down to the Championship.

The club want to get as much as possible for him as they have to hand over a slice to the Tykes.

Moyes is set to field his back-ups at Shrewsbury in the Cup today.

Reece Oxford will not feature after returning from his loan at Borussia Monchengladbach as he has an ankle injury.

Gaffer Moyes said: “He is still struggling.

“We tried to take him on the training ground but it didn’t look like he’ll be fit.”

Marko Arnautovic (hamstring) and Aaron Cresswell (back) also miss out.
