Manchester United given boost in race for £48million Ivan Perisic with Inter Milan admitting they are looking for ‘valid alternatives’
The Croatian winger has been linked with a £48m move to Manchester United all summer
INTER MILAN boss Luciano Spalletti has admitted the club are prepared to find a replacement for Manchester United target Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian winger has been linked with a £48million move to United all summer, but negotiations have stalled over the price for the player.
The Croatian international is the next man Jose Mourinho wants to add to his squad at Old Trafford.
Red Devils chiefs are locked in talks with the Serie A giants over the winger as they attempt to negotiate a deal.
Mourinho’s chief transfer negotiator Ed Woodward is only prepared to pay around £40m. Inter are holding out for an offer closer to £50m.
Inter manager Spalletti says the club want to keep the 28-year-old, but that the right price could force through a deal.
Spalletti said: "Sure, there were rumours, but the status quo is that we want to keep Perisic.
"Having said that, if someone comes in with a very difficult offer the reject, then we’ll consider that. But, of course, we’ll need to find a valid alternative for Perisic as well."

Perisic scored 11 goals and grabbed 11 assists in an impressive campaign for the Nerazzurri last season.
United have been splashing the cash this summer but have only been able to bring in two recruits so far.
They spent £30m on Victor Lindelof before forking out £75m to bring in striker Romelu Lukaku in from Everton a fortnight ago.
Mourinho complained that he was not happy with the club’s transfer business over the course of the summer.
