Arsenal fear forward Danny Welbeck is out for a month and will almost certainly miss England’s World Cup qualifiers

Striker was taken off after suffering a groin strain in the goalless draw against Chelsea and will have another scan today but things do not look good

ARSENAL fear crocked striker Danny Welbeck will be sidelined for a month.

The England star suffered a groin strain in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Chelsea.

He underwent a scan yesterday and is due to have another today to reveal the full extent of the injury.

But he is almost certainly out of England’s final two World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania early next month.

The loss of Welbeck would be a blow to Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate, whose side are five points clear at the top of Group F.

He came on as a sub and scored in the win against Malta and was also used against Slovakia two weeks ago.

And with fears Dele Alli could miss the crucial games, Welbeck's potential lay-off could not have come at a worse time.

Tottenham star Alli is in danger of being banned after showing his middle finger against Slovakia.

The striker misses tomorrow’s Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster at the Emirates Stadium, and also next week’s Premier League clash with West Brom.
But he could also miss the Gunners’ next Europa League clash at BATE Borisov and the League game against Brighton.

Welbeck missed eight months of 2016 with a knee cartilage problem but the Gunners do have cover in Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud.
