Liverpool want to nab Napoli ace Faouzi Ghoulam from under the nose of Man City
Left-back Ghoulam much in demand with Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus also watching the situation
LIVERPOOL seem determined to make a move for Napoli's Faouzi Ghoulam to ward off interest from Manchester City.
The Algerian international is out of contract at the end of the season.
Talks about a new deal have stalled over a release clause.
Left-back Ghoulam is poised leave when his current deal ends next summer, if not in January... and probably for the Premier League.
City want him as a replacement for Benjamin Mendy, who is likely to miss the rest of the season after having an operation on damaged knee ligaments.
But Liverpool have been on his case for the last year.
They did sign Andrew Robertson from Hull City in the summer.
But despite that they look ready to finally back up their interest in Ghoulam with a firm bid.
Ghoulam is much in demand.
Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester City have all sent scouts to watch him.
Ghoulam has been at Napoli since 2013, when he joined after four seasons at French side Saint-Etienne.
