The father of Liverpool striker Divock Origi has claimed his son could join Tottenham before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Yesterday we relayed reports suggesting Spurs are “one of the teams interested” in Origi.

Now, the 22-year-old’s father Mike has told DH.be (via London Evening Standard) that his son “has to leave Liverpool to get more playing time.”

He added: “Tottenham is a possibility, but there is also interest from France and Germany.”

Liverpool are reportedly keen to involve Origi in a deal to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, who is also being targeted by Spurs.

Origi would be a decent replacement for Vincent Janssen in that h’ed provide more suitable backup for Harry Kane.
