Arsene Wenger confirms Jack Wilshere is back in Arsenal training but midfielder will not be rushed into match action

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere has returned to full training this week - but is yet to put a date on his comeback.

Wilshere has been sidelined since the start of August after undergoing ankle surgery and faces a battle against time to be fit for Euro 2016.

Reports have suggested the England midfielder could play for the club's Under-21s side on Friday, but Wenger has yet to decide whether he is fit to play.

"It is his first week back in full training and we'll see how he responds to that," Wenger told Arsenal.com

"But the first signs are quite good. We'll assess our options next week."

Meanwhile, Wenger also revealed that Czech duo Petr Cech and Tomas Rosicky are close to returns, while Santi Cazorla is back on the training field.

"Wilshere and Rosicky are back in full training. Basically they are all progressing well," he said.

"Cech is going back to normal training. It's too early to say if he will be available for the weekend. He might be a bit short to be competitive.

"Santi Cazorla is running again outside so it should be three to four weeks more training for Santi."
