Arturo Vidal to Arsenal link: Arsene Wenger admits he ‘likes’ Juventus star

Arsenal have not agreed a deal for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

Reports in Chile claimed the Gunners had struck a £25m deal for the 28-year-old and a move would be completed after this summer's Copa America.

Arsenal are said to be on the lookout for a combative midfielder this summer and Wenger reportedly sees Vidal as the man to fit the role.

But, the Gunners boss has now dispelled rumours that the Chile international has put pen to paper on a move to the Emirates.

"If you want me to say I like Arturo Vidal, then yes I like Arturo Vidal," said Wenger.

"But are we in a transfer mode? I say no."
